Weekend Getaways! Yahoooooo! 😃😄👏

Saturday is a day of field trip. We will wake up early in the morning to prepare ourselves for a long travel going to our destination. Call time will be at 7 o'clock in the morning in front of the International Office or the so called IO. Everybody is really excited because it is field trip day and we're lucky enough to go to some places in West Sumatra without spending a lot of money; such a lucky participants. 

I remember everytime when we are on our way to wherever we go, everybody is always very active and energetic; singing songs in the bus like there is a big concert happening inside; but when we are going home, everybody is knocked out. It's like we are all stranger inside the bus because each has their own world, thinking for a comfortable way to sleep; I guess everybody got really tired. Despite of the long travel, we still enjoyed all the field trips we had. The laughters and smiles will always be treasured as we go on our separate ways.

First Field Trip

19th of January

(Alahan Panjang, Solok Getaway)

First stop!

Found a beautiful place to get lost, Touchdown Tea Plantation! You can experience a fine cold weather in this place. During this field trip I wasn't expecting that we'll have a not so mountain climbing, because all I know is we're going to a lake, that's why I decided to wear a long dress and a flat sandals.

Tried doing the job of the man beside me because I thought it's just an easy job. You just need to cut the tea leaves and that sounds easy right? But actually it's not! The big scissor is heavy and the leaves were going out of the white plastic attached in the scissor. I had fun doing his job and I want to do more of that but we don't have enough time.

Third stop! Danau Atas Danau Bawah Lake 😍

This place is a good place to get away from all the stress nor pains you feel. You can ride in a boat to roam around the lake or you can just sit under the pine trees with a mat placed in the grass and just feel the cold breeze of the place.

Air terjun lembah anai, The water falls along the road going to Bukitinggi.

Second Stop!

Harau Valley - Lima Puluh Kota

 You don't need to travel into different places, Harau Valley offers the vibe of different country.

Second Stop!

(Bukitinggi, Indonesia)

In the first picture is the Big Ben of Bukitinggi and it is called "Jam Gadang" jam means hour and gadang means big. Second picture is taken in a market in Bukitinggi. We bought all our souvenirs in Bukitinggi because the buddies told us that it's much cheaper there in Bukitinggi when it comes to souvenirs.
